Yes I love The Indigo Girls! “Prince of Darkness” used to be my favorite in college. Our culture encourages the notion that we are only half of a whole; that we need someone to complete us. That doesn’t sit well with me, which is not to say that there are not people who can teach, support, and bring great joy to our lives. Bummer about the backfire. What did you learn?
I think it all comes back to the duality. My personal belief is that there is something larger than that good-bad, dark-light, love-hate dance but we have to stop looking outside to find it. I predict another big discussion coming - LOL
