The women you’re describing remind me of Betty White! Strong, kind, beautiful, talented, hilarious, childless, animal loving, elderly woman! God bless her may she rest in peace!

Oh yes, she is another wonderful example! I miss seeing her gentle loving spirit.

Wonderful. From an old white guy whose only children are cats. That’s after horses and dogs.

What a super read! I raised two sons , who I seldom see now. I helped for years to care for my grandchildren. Now they don’t need me.

I am going to be 80 in April 25. I still take care of my two acres with my own battery run tools. I have a dog and cat I adore. I am strong and I am a fighter.

My dog is a Pit/boxer I rescued from Alabama. I had lost my Yellow Lab to BC, and was devastated. I had to have a dog. I chose Trooper because he had such a rough start. He was starving and had no fur. They said he was a Lab mix:-)but I had no idea he would grow into a beautiful dog. The clincher was seeing his birthday was April 11, which is my birthday. He is high now, but I can handle him. I exercise daily, so my balance is great.

Ossie is my remaining cat. He too was a rescue. His two buddy’s are gone now, so he follows me around like a shadow. . He is old and diabetic. He gets special food, two shots a day, and I clean his three boxes daily. I believe his kidneys are failing, so I give him a homeopathic remedy for this.

It’s a lof work, but it fills my need to mother these pets. They are my babies now.

I do have a husband, who seldom talks, because he is autistic.

It works because we both need a lot of alone time.

Thank you for asking and for your compliment ❤️😻

All my pets are rescues. I have a good friend who has a boxer she adores but he ‘s a handful! I’m so glad your life is full of love. Hugs.

Ah, Jena, well-said! Except you left out a very important subset of us. That is, the older women with horses. We are a fierce group who will not tolerate men who try to boss us around and very few of us even bother to crochet doilies or clean house. Most of us have cleaner barns and trailers than kitchens, truth be told. Woe unto the male who dares to criticize our babies' bad behavior because we possess the whips and spurs to make him cry, and the strength of character to do without him immediately if not sooner. We'll let him know in a heartbeat that his presence in our lives is strictly optional. If he doesn't like that, there's the door. Excellent example: Stormy Daniels. She's always had horses and showed them. Donald Trump tangled with the wrong woman when he picked her. She behaved in the courtroom like every horsewoman I've ever known. The attitude of "You want to fight? Bring it on, cowboy."

You are SO right, Ellen! My apologies.

I will have to make a separate category for Childless Horse Ladies and both a card and tee shirt to go with it. That will be fun :-)

P.S. I didn't know that about Stormy but it sure fits!

There's a reel on FB of some girl riding a horse that is acting up and she's riding him like a boss. Then it switches to a guy talking to another guy named Ryan who apparently has made some remarks about wanting to date her. Upshot of it is-"Ryan" is 155 lbs and the first guy says the girl can manage a 1000# animal with ease and break a man in half with those thighs. Just what in the name of heaven makes "Ryan" think he's man enough to take her on? And it's true. Horsewomen are a breed apart. There's a t-shirt around somewhere that says, "I can manage a 1200# horse, toss 70# bales of hay, lift 80# sacks of feed, muck out a stall with a pitchfork, and move 100 gal water tanks. What exactly makes you I can't handle YOU?

JDVanceand his truly insulting childless catlady comments are of the same type of harmful language used against women by Patriarchal religious zealots engaged in burning women who were intelligent healers, animal lovers, herbalists, alone, vulnerable and not go along with the Uber religious fray. I view JD Vances words to be not only insulting but extremely harmful because many will go along with this insulting and societal debilitating langguage towards a vulnerable population...the cats. But not so us childless catladies(and dogs!...he left out the Dogs because they represent masculinity which is outrageous) Just knowing he said this is everything I need to know about him. It is a witch hunt. And we childless catladies with dogs too know what to do now that we know who the Conquer Worms are...we vote these bastards out and we speak up and out.

I had one child because I thought I was supposed to. She had her problems growing up and I thought I was being a good mom. She has her masters now, married into a heavily religious, patriarchal family with two teenagers....and we are simply cordial today - not close like I had hoped. I've kind of given up trying. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Living my life now as a childless woman who loves dogs. 🤣

The evils of religion. I will not go into my experience with religion as I have already done so many times. Cults erect very strong barriers around the minds of those who give up their free will and do not want to do the work of truly examining life.

Absolutely brilliant! As an unmarried childless cat lady, I am proud to be the worst nightmare of JD Vance and his ilk. And we've only just begun to fight. Can't wait for the Indivisible zoom meeting this evening for the Harris/Walz ticket. Go team!!
