Jena! Woman of Many Talents....er, many many many many talents! My Gawd!

Thank you, Auntie E. Not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could teleport the entire Conflab into Second Life for a pow wow.

We would each design and deck out a spectacular avatar. And if we weren’t happy with the results, we’d go clothes and make-up shopping. We’d change our shapes and the color of our eyes and skin. Heck we might even experiment with different genders. It’s all part of the wonder of being an “avatar.”

Once we were satisfied with our avatars, I’d take you to visit some of exquisite nature preserves, museums, and art galleries. We’d go sailing, cycling, and sky diving.

And of course I’d take you all to Arbors where we’d attend a live music performance, dance the night away, and enter names in the Tree of Hugs in memory of those we’ve lost.

Best of all, we would wrap our virtual arms around one another for a group hug (yes it is possible) and I would finally be able to say to each and everyone in the Conflab, “Thank you SO much.”

Jena, I finally had a moment to explore this post. It's been amazing to connect with you and Gloria on these metaphysical levels. It's freeing for me. I often feel I'm the only one floating around up there. Thank you both for your patience and persistence. Jena, I have so many questions. Do you play the harp and do the digital animation in the video? How can I calculate the age of my second life? What delineates the start of the SL? Is it a career change? Because I've had a least three major ones of those.

The two posts I'd love to read are:

"Reinventing Myself: How the ability to change my appearance, gender, age, and even species gave me insights into myself and my relationships with others."

and

"US Bank: Prototyping and role playing banks of the future."

Thank you so much for reading along Lorraine!

I don't play the harp, but some of the animations that are placed in the instruments also play recorded music.

Your age in SL is calculated by the day you sign up and get an avatar (it's free). It's called a rezz day because that is the date the avatar is rendered (rezzed) by the SL servers. It's the date your avatar actually appears in SL.

Thank you for your feedback on the posts you'd like to see next. I'm so glad the topics appeal to you! HUGS!

Jena, where do you sign up for the avatar? I missed that. Thanks!

On the Second Life Site: https://secondlife.com/

Click on the blue button in the top right.

That said, you should know that there is a rather steep learning curve and you might want some help to learn how to use the interface. If you decide to join (yes it's free) email me and I will have some things that will help.

Oh yes I see now. Thank you again for your patience!

Patience? I should have thought to include a link to sign up for Second Life and didn’t. Thank YOU for asking.

Yes you did :-)

There is SO much I want to share, but didn't want to subject you all to a novel.

What would you like to hear more about next?

Expand full comment

Yes, very much so.
