“Love is the recognition of oneness in a world of duality.” - Eckhart Tolle
In an earlier post, I talked about the many and complex ways our country and relationships are out of balance. It’s tempting - especially with the “dark side” of the yin-and-yang equation tipping the scales towards evil - to assume we must gird our loins, don our armor, and march into battle.
But what if, as David Wilcox suggests, there was another, larger truth at work? What if everything about our world and interactions was designed to immerse us in the play of duality - to cast us in roles designed to teach us about ourselves and the realities we individually and collectively create? Let’s have a listen:
So, if what Wilcox suggests is true - that love (with a capital “L”) is behind the dance of black and white, how should we approach this world? Where do we put our time, energy, and focus? Eckart Tolle (and many like him) say, “The present moment is all you have. Make NOW the primary focus of your life.”
This is a much larger discussion, of course, so let’s keep talking. But before you go, I’d like to share one more song by Jason Mraz. It’s called, “93 Million Miles.”
My favorite lines in the song are:
“Looking deeper through the telescope
You can see that your home's inside of you.”
What are yours?
Let the discussion begin!
