I am trying to feel my way towards a better memorial. There is something I don't think I've captured or conveyed well enough. There was a goodness - a light - behind and within her voice and presence. She had power but was always so gentle, so respectful when using it. And when she sang - really opened her heart and shared as she did at the workshop where all 50 of us sang with her - she carried us all on the wings of her voice. It grounded, supported, and encouraged us all to open our hearts and sing as well. I am not mourning her physical self so much as I am aching to feel her presence with me again. We used to connect on video and I got used to hearing her voice - hearing her words. I am missing that but I also know - because she believed this too - that she is here if I can just listen. (((Jennifer)))
Thank you, Susan. Although I love the “Vespers” collection her husband put together, please take some time to experience the songs she helped write and perform in Japan where she was deeply loved. Her song about the Sakura (cherry trees) is especially touching. Those are all available on her website https://www.susanosbornsings.com/music
What a tremendous loss for you, for everyone who knew her--first and foremost her husband. Just reading this moving and deeply mournful writing, I can feel your tears flowing, and although I didn't know her, my own tears are welling up in my eyes. It's too late to listen to the links you included (thank you so much for including these), but I will when I get home from an out-of-town trip. My heart is with you, Jena, as you make this painful slog through your grief. Sending love and light your way.
Thank you very much. I am simply in shock. I can't stop crying. Thank you for reading along. She was a truly resplendent soul. I think you will love both her writing and her music. HUGS.
Lovely 🥰
Thank you :-)
