I know, I know, foxes leaping into the air then plunging snout-first into the snow is a technique they use to hunt. The foxes hear mice and other small animals scurrying beneath the snow and dive into the soft white powder to catch them. It’s a pretty ingenious (and dramatic) way to acquire dinner.
That foxes might employ the same technique when test driving trampolines would never have occurred to me. But once you’ve seen a red fox bouncing up and down with its bushy tail waving exuberantly back and forth you’ll never forget it. They are clearly having a blast. I’ve copied one of my favorite videos of this phenomenon below (click on the image).
The moment I saw red foxes bouncing on trampolines, I knew the Proprietress would have to create an illustration for the Buttons and Bows Boutique. She has designed two versions - one with the words, “The Pounce” beneath it (for the hunters among us), and one without any words entitled, “The Bounce.” See what you think.
P.S. Apparently foxes are not the only critters who like to bounce on trampolines. If you’ve got one in your yard be on the lookout for stoats, cats, goats, sheep, bears, rabbits, monkeys, chipmunks, pigs, and apparently AI generated badgers and elephants. Click the image below to see a video of all of them.
