“I fight because I have to. I fight for us to know the truth.” - Pink
This Tweet and footage appeared in my feed today. I am both grateful and devastated.
This image is of Ukrainian medic Yuliia Paievska (nicknamed Taira). The link below will take you to footage she filmed of her team (called Taira’s Angles) tending to the wounded while Mariupol was under siege.
Paievska was captured by Russian soldiers and is now a POW, but days before she was able to give weeks of footage to an AP journalist, who smuggled it out in a tampon.
The horror of this senseless attack on Ukraine is brought home in stories like Taira's. Each and every one of us must speak out against this shameful war. Whether we have boots on the ground or not, it reflects on us all. This is NOT what humanity is supposed to be or do.
Please pass Taira’s story along and keep love and hope flowing to Mariupol.

Thank you, Jena! And, Taira! Wherever you are in that Russian POW camp, SALUTE!
