My music is best understood by children and animals.” - Igor Stravinsky
I've been wanting to share these for several weeks now - songs performed solely by one instrument.
Let’s start with an incredibly gifted pianist named Josh Wright playing Liszt’s “La Campanella.”
Now for some flashy guys - the trombones.
And for a complete change of pace, a group of cellists playing Metallica!
And because I really couldn’t get enough of their work, here is Apocalyptica playing, “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica. Amazing.
Finally, a group that may be familiar, the Army Trumpet Ensemble playing “America the Beautiful.”
In Part II I’ll share some extraordinary performances by musicians who bill themselves as “One Man Bands,” so stay tuned. In the meantime, it’s your turn. Do you know of any performances by a single instrument that are really good?
Let the discussion begin!
