Over the course of the past two months, as we have explored the theme of Hugs Around the World, our musicians have tackled everything from celebrations, healing, personal struggles and growth, loss, and family. But this week we decided to lighten things up a bit by asking Max to dual-stream with his friend Beth Odets. These two musicians have known and been playing together for more than 10 years in both their first and Second Lives and are notorious for taking errr…liberties with lyrics and melodies.
Since you’ve already met Max, allow us to introduce Beth, who is not only an extraordinarily gifted musician but a blast to be around. Here are some highlights from her bio:
Beth is a classically trained concert violinist who threw it all away to become the greatest itinerant fiddler in Second Life. A champion of the environment and alternative energy sources, Beth is currently touring Second Life in a '69 VW micro-van powered by hippies on a treadmill.
"I'm Not Matthew,” her first singer/songwriter album, was released in 2011 and can be found here: http://www.bethbrown.bandcamp.com. The album was co-produced with RL/SL music partner Matthew Broyles: www.thematthewshow.com)
In this concert, we asked Max and Beth to do what they do best - have FUN! As you will see they were the perfect pair to bring some levity to the Hug series. Oh and that funny green thing on the right side of the stage? That’s Beth’s hoe, and you are regularly invited to tip it. The black and white object to the left of Max is just what it looks like - a cow. She flops onto her side whenever anyone drops some coins into his tip jar. We told you they were fun! Enjoy!!
Hugs for Fun - Max and Beth
Best subhead ever, Jena!
