“Everybody thought I was a bit of an eccentric for wanting to be out there looking at the stars, but I still do.” — Brian May
Saturday, February 26th saw our regular group of four - Icky and Sum, Lexus Melodie, and Rasp Rearwin playing songs from the British Isles. Given how unique their styles are, it was fun to see their different approaches to the theme. I think you’re going to enjoy what you hear.
First up, Icky and Sum - our duo from northern Britain. I love the rough and down-to-earth feel of Icky’s voice complemented by Sum’s playing. See what you think.
Next was Lexus who pulled not only from her “vault” of originals (I could listen to “Block by Block” all day) but from her repertoire of classics by Ed Sheeran, Adele, and Queen as well. Who knew she has the pipes to sing Adele as well as Adele?! Amazing:
Finally, we heard from Rasp who, though American, gamely pulled out his list of British songs, including originals by Lexus. You will love the love in his set.
And no, I am not going to say much more. I think the music does a great job of speaking for itself.
