The Story

We Stand in the Middle is a serialized novel about a young woman who inherits former Cherokee land and gets more than she bargained for.

The story is grounded in Cherokee culture and unfolds in the Appalachian Mountains during difficult times. The goal is to offer an intriguing story while recalling us to our better selves - the selves who are inherently kind, empathetic, and aware of the larger web of life we are part of and depend on.

The Cherokee call their work in the world Standing in the Middle and believe that achieving balance between body, mind, and spirit is the key to living a happy and successful life. They measure success by how well their lives unfold in cooperation with one another and the lives of other living creatures.
