The song that accompanies this post, “The Flight of the Bumblebee” by Rimsky Korsakov will be familiar to many of you. I am sharing it both as an homage to a great composer and as a way to encourage you to click on over to my latest post entitled, “Primrose House: Gnomes, bees, and monkey puzzle trees.”
It’s the story of how a retired illustrator and his house full of prank-loving spirits taught an eight-year-old girl to believe in herself and the magic lurking just beneath the surface of everyday life. And, yes, as the name of the post implies, bees and a very large, very dangerous monkey puzzle tree figure prominently in the story. Here’s the link:
