Yesterday, I received this remarkable song from a new member. His name is Richard Osband and the piece is entitled, Earth Mother: A Prayer for Ukraine. It is hauntingly beautiful, especially given the special circumstances under which it was created. I’ll let Richard tell the story below.
“I live in Glastonbury UK but am the Foundation President of Dom Przebudzen, a healing centre in Poland, which my wife started building before she died in 2018.
“I started writing poems in 2021 during lockdown at age 72. During a visit to Poland, we started jamming to one of my poems. It became a song we then recorded at a friend’s studio in Poland.
“Earth Mother was the second song we did. It arose out of my strong feelings about the war. We have a third song we are recording at the end of October.
I found my voice at 72. You’re never too old!”
